i once looked for the exact quote and reference myself but was unuable to turn
it up --perhaps because i didn't really know what it was (duh).
Maybe someone with access to a concordance or digital Rabelais (or even,
heaven forbid, a personal knowledge of the text) will have better luck.
i'd also appreciate having the reference to the Gallardon "épaule" (so called,
local folklore had/has it, because the shape of the tower's ruin looks a bit
like a shoulder of mutton --but actually derived from "specula," a documented
12th c. knickname for the it).
