Hi all
Many of the members of this list have published disability texts that appear
in Disability Awareness in Action's Recommended Reading List.
The list is available hard-copy and on our much modified and extended
website, which I am currently preparing to upload. If colleagues have any
suggestions as to publications (including disability/independent living
resource texts) that they feel should be included (even their own), I would
be grateful for an off-list message. Please send details in standard
Harvard catalogue format, with the addition of purchase price, as partial
details cannot be used.
Sorry for the web 'shout' - but PLEASE NOTE THAT DAA WILL ONLY LIST
PUBLICATIONS THAT DEAL WITH DISABILITY AS A HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE. Published
research papers should conform to emancipatory and/or participatory
methodology.
In view of DAA's emphasis on serving disabled people in developing
countries, any texts that are of particular value to disabled people in such
regions are particularly welcome. That being said, we also receive frequent
requests for reading lists from students (at all levels).
When space permits, DAA also publish reviews of new titles in our monthly
international bulletin - The Disability Tribune - if you are about to, or
have recently, published a book that you would like reviewed, please send a
copy to me at the snail-mail address below.
I hope that members are okay with this message - which is intended to be a
resource for you, rather than a 'spam'.
Keep publishing folks!
Regards
