I realise that Peter is joking, but this is dangerous and erroneous advice.
I would not want anyone to believe it.
Macs get infected. That is why you can buy software to protect yourself.
There may be fewer incidents than with PCs, but that is simply a matter of
the relative populations. Attacks may also take a different form on the Mac,
but my Mac friends in the USA assure me that it happens. Just search the
Apple web site for details.
By the way, the person who sent the original virus insists that she did not
send it but was herself the victim. Sorry, but the very fact that you are a
victim, by which I assume she meant that she had opened the message, means
that you have probably passed it on.
I would not continue this saga here, given that it has nothing to do with
the list, but this is an important issue. The level of ignorance hereabouts
suggests that more homework is in order.
