Hello Chris and all - The oslo conference was made. A report will be
available in the English language sometime by may, I think.
Was it a good event. In my opinion yes. It was well attended and the
atmosphere was indeed positive and stimulating.
Some solid theoretical issues were discussed concerning the informed
practices and all this together with a firm awareness of the global
issues ( the economy, for example) as they influence local issues.
>From the positions of "value-bases" ; from "narrative" and
"interpretation" ; from "constructivist" and through to a look at
"social movements" were but some of the topics that were opened up.
Friluftsliv was emerging as a mix of various traditions in a way that
was rarely fixed.
Perhaps those interested in the report will find much much more to
comment upon but in my opinion it was a worthwhile and exciting event.
I, for one, will get that report.
best wishes
