At last we a seeing some action on the 5th International Mining History
Congress to be held in Greece this coming September.
Below is notice of their current announcement -

International Mining History Congress cordially invites you to participate
in the Congress to be held on
>Milos island, Greece, 12-15 September 2000.

>The purpose of the congress is to gather specialists of the different
disciplines involved in mining history to present and discuss their latest
research. A wide range of topics is discussed including problems of the
social and economic history of mining development in different countries and
regions.

>The objectives of the event are: to encourage mining history studies; and
to promote the preservation and restoration of mining regions through
