The Hans-Sigrist-Foundation at the University of Bern, Switzerland,
invites applications for the prestigious Hans-Sigrist-Stipend, a
postdoctoral research fellowship in the
History and philosophy of science, mathematics or logic of the 19th and
20th century
Preferred are projects complementing the research activities of the
Group for History and philosophy of Science at the University of Bern
(http://philoscience.unibe.ch), e.g. on the history of mathematics or
the logical foundations of the exact sciences. This preference does
however not exclude other directions of research in the history of
science.
Applicants should
- show a high research profile and the potential to complete a
habilitation thesis in the history and philosophy of science.
- the age should not exceed 36.
- deadline 1. Feb. 2001
- Applicants are expected to be able to demonstrate their potential for
excellence in teaching and in research.
The stipend is granted for one to two years with one year of extension.
