Michael & other visitors
Did Ross send you a list of recommendations? Living here, you don't
get to know the hotels. The nearest hotel to the Museum Studies is
called the Spindle Lodge Hotel, 3 star. If you've not got the list,
tel is 0116 233 8801, fax 0116 233 8804. The next nearest would be
anything on London Road, the list has Stanfre House, one star, tel
0116 270 4294.
There are some cheaper places nearer the railway station and
therefore close to the university. They aren't on the list, possibly
not with stars or crowns. One which"looks" reasonable is the
Bradgate Hotel - it's more of a commercial hotel (and unfortunately
is in the red light district). Phone is 0116 255 7589, fax 0116
247 0749. The Park Hotel and St. Albans Hotel I suspect are more like
hostels?
Have seen another email referring to the Burlington - I think that
was the Bradgate House's previous name.
Birmingham to Leicester is Central Trains. Journey time is about one
hour and single fare about a fiver.
