 000 Generalities

 xrefer
      Search engine indexing information found in encyclopaedias,
      dictionaries, thesauri, books of quotations, and subject
      based reference works. On entering a keyword or phrase, a
      range of reference material such as definitions, synonyms,
      and details of usage are returned.
 Learned Publishing
      Full text version of the journal from 1997 onwards,
      available free of charge. Contains articles covering major
      publishing issues such as peer review, consortia, linking,
      copyright, and licensing, and offers an email alerting
      service for new issues.
 Electronic Book Evaluation Project
      Project investigating services offered to libraries by
      publishers within the electronic book industry considering
      licensing issues, applications, practicality, and marketing
      strategies, with a view to improving the relationship
      between the two parties. Provides access to patron survey
      results, a PowerPoint presentation describing the
      methodology used, and related press releases and articles.
 Quarterly Review Project
      Information about a journal published in England during the
      Regency period. Provides an index to the publication
      between 1809 and 1814, an essay about the founding of the
      title, bibliographies of contributors, and a list of
      subscribers.
 jake: Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment
      The jake (Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment )
      comprises a searchable collection of database indices and
      journal citations held within them. Based on volume number,
      issue, page, and year, the application can build URLs and
      link to the full text online version of an article where
      possible.

 re:source: Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries
      Highlights activities, news, and job opportunities within
      the strategic group which aims to promote collaboration
      between museums, archives, and libraries.
 Digitising Journals
      Collection of papers presented at the Conference on Future
      Strategies for European Libraries held in Copenhagen.
      Offers PowerPoint versions of papers and slides, and a
      listing of participants.

 Human Perception and Performance Group
      Information about a research group investigating the
      relationship between human perception and action, in
      connection with processes involved in the acquisition of
      new skills, ageing, motion detection, response time, limb

      seven Latin American countries.
 Islamic Banking and Finance: Another Approach
      Describes an alternative approach to Islamic banking which
      proposes to avoid problems such as the inability to set up
      interest-free banks in most countries, and the erosion of
      capital value due to inflation. Covers a range of financial
      issues including lending, investing, and insuring.
 Electronic Green Journal
      Online publication offering peer reviewed articles, book
      reviews, news, and information on environmental topics of
      international concern. Provides access to full text papers
      from 1994 onwards, each of which is fully searchable.
 Lex Mercatoria
      Focuses on commercial and international trade law, covering
      subjects such as contracts, customs, free trade,
      insolvency, jurisdiction, procurement, and sale of goods.
      Treaties, model laws, and country implementation details
      are offered for each subject.
 Introduction to Social Policy
      Resource relating to the study of social policy, with
      information about welfare, political issues, social need,
      and associated services. A bibliography of reading material
      for students is provided for each area.
 Escapes from Alcatraz
      A record of prisoners' attempts to break free from 'The
      Rock', dispelling the myth that the institution was 'escape
      proof'. Each effort is described, together with an account
      of its success, information about the convict involved, the
      crime they committed, and sentence imposed.
 Market Access Sectoral and Trade Barriers Database
      Provides reports on sectoral and trade barriers worldwide.
      Material can be browsed by industry such as shipbuilding,
      financial services, electronics, telecommunications,
      agriculture, fisheries, and tourism, by measure including
      general trade policy, tariff and non-tariff barriers,
      business services, IPR related issues, and investment, or
      by country.
 Transport in the Nordic Countries
      Collection of links to transport, traffic planning, and
      engineering resources relating to Sweden, Denmark, Norway,
      Finland, and Iceland. Arranged geographically, listings
      include universities and research centres, local companies,
      organisations, and technical consultants.

      Provides an introduction to particle physics, covering

 National Tourism Database
