Dear colleagues:
I know this is rather off the main beaten path, but I'm getting rather
desperate: do any of you have any suggestions about how I can locate an
English artist, Patrick Oxenham? I'm assuming he's English, the art
gallery in Wales thinks he may be from the Cotswolds area, but are
unsure; we have very few reference items in our libraries on current
British artists and I'm getting fair frustrated. The watercolors and
line drawings I've seen of his are all of animals -- squirrels,
fieldmice, etc. Is there perhaps an art/artists database we're unaware
of here on this side of the pond?
While I'd like to be able to reach the artist himself, I'll settle for
knowing where his work is available. I bought several of his things a
few years ago, and am now trying to find more.....
Our art specialist has looked through everything she knows of, but those
sources list mainly famous folk and/or American artists only.
Thanks in advance for your kind assistance!
