GIS Officer (1 Year Contract)

As the primary body for improving the quality of housing in Scotland, we are dedicated to gathering and analysing high-calibre information to drive our service. We work in partnership with a variety of local agencies, maintaining an impressive knowledge of the latest trends in housing, the economy and society as a whole.
You will help to maintain and develop GIS applications in support of housing research and policy development. You will have the ability to understand user requirements and translate these to the successful provision of both tabular and mapped output. An experienced graduate (preferably with post-graduate training in GIS), you will be a skilled MapInfo and MS Access user, with experience with Internet GIS (Autodesk MapGuide in particular) also being an advantage. A track record of working with large socio-economic datasets such as the Census is also a pre-requisite, as are good team working skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
