The WMCIU GIS Service aims to utilise and promote the use of GIS technology within the NHS in the West Midlands health region. An opportunity has arisen for a GIS professional with a keen interest in health and health related issues to join the service as GIS officer. Main duties will include:
§ to manage and develop the GIS Service to meet the changing needs of public health policy.
§ to collaborate with health and health related organisations in the spirit of the Public Health Observatories initiative.
You will be based within the WMCIU's Research and Information department and will contribute to the departments function as well as dealing with wider public health issues.
Applications are invited from individuals who:
§ are educated to degree or equivalent level in GIS, geography or related subject
§ have a postgraduate qualification in GIS or similar
§ have had at least 2 years experience applying GIS technology
§ have experience of social data such as census and population information
§ possess excellent IT skills including MS Office, databases, internet technologies
