Hi,
I am looking at the effect of graphite and ilmenite in garnet porphyroblast
nucleation and growth, and in particular the physiochemical effects of
graphite at the garnet/matrix interface; i.e.. how it affects fO2, XCO2,
XH2O, the differential stress field, and the ilmenite microstructure that
defines the matrix around the porphyroblast.
I have read the papers by Ferguson et al. (1980), Burton (1986, 1991),
Andersen (1984) and Rice & Mitchell (1991), but am looking at more of a
chemical angle than just nucleation characteristics. Any help would be
appreciated.
Regards,
Rob Newman
