I have been asked by a former colleague at Birmingham who is organising a
conference next year on "Information from Major Sports Events" if I can
suggest a speaker who could talk about arrangements for the collection,
storage and retrieval of archives about sport. A trawl through British
Archives and the NRA does not suggest any institution that has a major
collecting focus in this area, and I wonder if there are any individuals out
there who would like to volunteer themselves? The conference is in
Manchester (UMIST) on 1st May, and my informant expects an audience of about
60 from academia, libraries and information workers. Any replies or
suggestions of appropriate speakers to me off-list please.
