I refer you to Byrne & Churchill A Comprehensive French
grammar (revised by Glanville Price) Section 353 p.
261. Verbs with e acute in the penultimate syllable -
ceder, regner, repeter, agreer, etc
(There is also a section on verbs with mute en in the
penultimate syllable - acheter, geler, mener, soupeser.
