There is an 18th century assemblage from Kingston-on-
Thames which has a calf bone assemblage. It is a deposit of
foot bones only, all from calves which could be aged very
closely to 3-4 months (from the fusion state of the
metapodials). Though the bones are probably from a
collection of skins, they are also evidence for the very
specialised nature of urban dairying at the time.
