Dear Colleagues,
A forthcoming book needs your top Web site design, planning or
management tip: favourite software, a useful trick to improve design or
simply that golden nugget of advice you wish you'd had when you started
out - please submit your top tip or trick so that your fellow Web site
managers and designers can benefit.
Tips and Tricks for Web site Managers will be published by ASLIB in
December, and is targeted at new web site managers and managers of
information-based Web sites. All contributors will be acknowledged in
the book as well as on the supporting web site. The tips themselves will
appear throughout the text as shaded boxes in the margin, with your name
and company attached.
Be generous. Be helpful. Be famous.
Tips will be placed within one of the 6 key sections of the book:
+ Site definition and planning (market research,outcomes,
building a team)
+ Information architecture & navigation (site structure, navigation
style)
+ Page and Site design (inc. graphics, formats, layout)
+ Site construction and management (validation, testing, usability,
accessibility)
+ Marketing and Promotion (links, search engines, advertising etc)
+ Monitoring, evaluation, development (counters, log files, newsfeeds)
Please send in your top tip in the following format:

platforms/browsers please - we already have several!]
