The History & Special Collections Division of the Louise M. Darling
Biomedical
Library, UCLA has created a web exhibit entitled: "Smallpox:
Inoculation, Vaccination, Eradication." Using the resources of the
collection, we have mounted significant images and texts relating to
the practice of inocuation, and William Jenner's discovery of cowpox
and vaccination. Finally, we have provided links to sites on the World
Health Organization's eradication of smallpox and the continuing
question of whether to destroy the last remaining stocks of the virus.
