ARK (the Northern Ireland Social and Political Archive) is a joint pilot project
between the University of Ulster and Queen’s University. This post holder will
set up a web based archive making material on social and political life in
Northern Ireland accessible to the widest possible audience, particularly he/she
will source and devise summaries of research material. The post is initially for
one year with the possibility for extension for a further three years subject to
satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
Applicants must have a first or upper second class honours degree, or equivalent
primary qualification, or a higher degree in a social science discipline.
At least two years relevant research experience (which may include postgraduate
research) is required as is knowledge and experience in PC based applications
including word processing. Proficiency in writing research reports or related
publications and effective public presentation skills are also required.
Desirable criteria are listed on the Further Particulars
Salary range: £16,286 - £18,915 per annum, initial placing depending on age,
experience and qualifications.
