I would like to inform you that the GeoDenver 2000 meeting will be held at
the Denver Technical Center Marriott in Denver, Colorado, on August 5-8,
2000. There will be pre-conference short courses on August 3-4, 2000. More
information on the GeoDenver 2000 conference is available at
<http://www.asce.org/conferences/geo2000/index.html>.
If you have not registered yet, please do so by July 7 to register at a
reduced rate. You can register on-line using the conference web site shown
above. The conference has many simultaneous sessions in the pavement,
materials, and geotechnical areas. I am organizing 3 sessions on pavement
nondestructive testing, subgrade and unbound materials as shown below.
Monday, August 7, 8:30 - 10:00 a.m., Pavement Nondestructive Testing
The Determination of Soft Subgrade Modulus for Airport Pavement
Rehabilitation via Backcalculation of Falling Weight Deflectometer Data
Evaluating Subgrade Properties with a High-Speed Rolling Deflectometer
ANN Backcalculation of Pavement Profiles from the SASW Test
Monday, August 7, 10:30 - 12:00 noon, Pavement Subgrade and Unbound
Materials I
Advanced Characterization of Granular Materials for Mechanistic Based
Pavement design
Mechanistic Evaluation of the Depth to Bedrock and its Effect on the
Response of 3D FE Pavement Models
Design Resilient Modulus of Subgrade Soils from FWD Tests
Evaluation of Pavement Layer Response at the Virginia Smart Road
Monday, August 7, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m., Pavement Subgrade and Unbound Materials
II
Nonlinear Viscosity of Subgrade Soils under Cyclic Loading
A Simple Closed-Form Solution for Backcalculating Dynamic Foundation
Coefficients
Seasonal and Spatial Variation of Subgrade Response
There are many other good sessions organized by others. I am looking
forward to seeing you at the GeoDenver meeting in August.
