AASHTO has just released its AASHTO Superpave software package.
This software was originally developed at the University of Maryland as
part of the FHWA Superpave models contract, with some subsequent NCHRP
funding. The software includes modules for volumetric mix design and
construction QC/QA for hot mix asphalt paving mixtures. The volumetric
mix design module conforms to the revised PP28-99 and MP2-99 AASHTO
standards and includes RAP mix design capabilities based on the
guidelines from the Mixtures Expert Task Group. The QC and QA modules
are loosely based on the NCHRP Project 9-7 results, but with enough
flexibility to enable producers/contractors/agencies to tailor the QC/QA
process to their specific practices. Additional details on the software
capabilities can be found on the AASHTOWare web site at
www.aashtoware.org/superpave/spsite.nsf.
The AASHTO Superpave software can be downloaded for 30 day free trial
evaluation from the AASHTOWare web site at
www.aashtoware.org/superpave/spdown.nsf. The $350 one-time license fee
for continuing usage may be purchased electronically from AASHTOWare's
online catalog at www.aashtoware.org/orders/catalog.nsf.
Sorry for all the URLs, but the AASHTOWare Superpave web site is still
under construction and some of the links are not yet completely knit.
