A brief message from one of the (up until now) silent reading members of
this news group of 364. When I joined it last year, I did wonder whether
most of the messages posted were getting lost on their way to me, but
finally I see life in the group, and it is getting interesting. I had an
earlier hypothesis this week about the number of messages being related
positively to daylength, but perhaps not. I have not yet digested the recent
debate but have collected it all.
At the moment, I do little more than aspire to promote the PU of science. I
am a Reader in Genetics at a UK university (note my commercial ISP
address!). I am in dialogue with the BBSRC about whether to hostš the BBSRC
exhibition on GM in my locality, and in a Millennium Festival Funded project
in digital art related to the human genome with 15 year olds at a secondary
school that has just lost its superhead. I have recently exhibited in a
partnership in SCI-ART entitled Invisible Body funded by the Wellcome Trust.
