Lynda
I've just head about a programme called Physics on Stage headed by the
European Space Agency. They are co-ordinating a European-wide programme of
events in connection with the European Week for Science and Technology 2000.
Thier press release appeared recently on Alphagalileo (a European science
press release service for those of you that don't know
it)http://www.alphagalileo.org/fetchpn.asp?id=3163&accept_language=en and
thier direct web address is http://www.estec.esa.nl/outreach/pos/
They might be a good contact.
And for those of you who think that I have too much time on my hands to be
posting answers to your questions: I'm a librarian- it's my job!
all best

Subject: European science communication activities
Dear All,
Can you help?
We - the Graphic Science project team - would very much
like to make contact with people/groups around Europe who
are involved in the type of science communication/public
understanding of science work that we carry out (further
info below), and considered that subscribers to the
psci-com mailbase may be able to point us to the right
contacts.
For example, by repute we know of a project in Holland that
sees science featured on milk cartons, and of the work of
the Centre for the Popularisation of Knowledge (Centre de
Vulgarisation de la Connaisance) in France to put posters
about science on the Paris Underground. We would like to
know how to get in touch with those involved in these, and
similar, projects.

GRAPHIC SCIENCE
The Graphic Science project team is an initiative mounted
by the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences at the
University of the West of England, Bristol. We aim to
bring the best in contemporary and innovative science
commnication to targeted audiences. We devise and run
projects such as 'Science on the Buses' (a nationwide
project designed to encourage people to think about science
and scientific issues by placing striking posters in an
everyday environment); Pub Genius; CheckOut Science at
Tesco etc. If you would like more information, you may
like to look at our website
(www.uwe.ac.uk/fas/graphicscience) or contact me by return
of email or at the address below.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who may be able to
help.
Kind regards,
Lynda
