Because attachments are really an insane way to pass around public
information, for more reasons than I can be bothered to recount, this raises
the issue of how best to do it.
A useful resource would be a web site where this sort of document could
appear, preferably as pdf files rather than Word documents.
Failing that, as most people have web sites, an email message to the list
with a link to the document would do the job. The BA, for example, has its
own web site. Documents don't even need to be visible on the main web site.
Just put a page in with no links to the rest of the site.
If there are any documents that have a particular relevance to science
writers, minor players on the PEST front, I can slap them up on the ABSW
site.

1 I definitely wish to receive briefings on the BA forum as I can't get to
London either. I have already asked for such meetings to be held in
locations outside London but have received no reply.
Plain text mail would be fine
2 yes this kind of issue is vital to anyone communicating about science
3 Many thanks to members e.g. Andy in his bunker for reporting to us all
about the crucial meetings in London and elsewhere
