On a somewhat other subject, perhaps, how many have read what we might call
the illustrated Waste Land:
Martin Rowson's amazing book-length cartoon _The Waste Land_ (Penguin Books
1990/Harper & Row 1990), which includes the Notes, in the very
comic/parodic mode of the original. Noir Eliot. It works!

I agree - I enjoyed it very much. I heard a long time ago that he was
working on a cartoon Tristram Shandy. I hope he finished it.
High on the list of books I daydream about writing is The Waste Land - The
Novel, which would assimilate all the fragments into a realistic portrait of
20s London. About as anti-Modernist a project as you can get, and in any
case the copyright problems would be too much (as they nearly were for
Rowson, apparently).
Best wishes
