RURAL RESIDENCY
>Who: Photographers/Digital Image Makers
>What: one year part-time rural community and education based residency.
>Where: schools, youth and community groups in and around Minehead, West
>Somerset
>When: October/November 2000 for one year.
>Fee: three parts totalling £15,275 (P/T): £11,025 community projects,
>£3,000 commission/s and £1,250 artist bursary.
>Details: the photographer/digital image maker will be based at the West
>Somerset Community College in Minehead. They will work with able bodied and
>disabled children and young people drawn from youth and community disabled
>youth groups and schools. The residency will build on previous projects
>involving the same medium and will explore themes as decided by the groups:
>the community projects work is estimated at 126 days work spread over the
>year (pro rata the fee would be £21,000 if full time). There will be
>commission for the artist to produce work as a response to the residency.
>Experience of working with children and young people, both able bodied and
>disabled, is desirable. An office space will be made available at West
>Somerset Community College, Minehead and the bursary is provided to
>facilitate the resident artist's own professional development.
