My university (Hertfordshire) has had several practice-centred MA(Res) and
PhDs.
I have some information online at
http://www.herts.ac.uk/artdes/resdegs/
None of our PhDs have been in Design (they were/are Fine Art), although we
have MA(Res) in Design.
It is my opinion that the quality of research degrees in UK would be
benefited by closer cooperation and networking between universities.
