Dear List Members,
Some of you might be interested in a software workshop
that is coming up soon, in the USA. The workshop will
introduce the cognitive mapping method (developed by
Colin Eden and Fran Ackermann (University of
Strathclyde)) and Decision Explorer, the software
developed to support it.
USA Workshop:
Date: Wednesday 22nd March 2000.
Title: An Introduction to Decision Explorer
Tutors: Dr Silvana di Gregorio, SdG Associates
Venue: Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Boston, MA.
Brief description: This one-day, hands-on workshop
will take you through the theory and practice of
cognitive mapping, its application for decision
support and the use of Decision Explorer - the
software developed to support the cognitive
mapping process.
Decision Explorer can be used to generate "maps" of
ideas and to pull them together to form a coherent
picture that will help to improve understanding of a
situation. It is a "visual thinking" tool, which can
be used with information generated by an individual or
a group.
There is a fee for attendance, further details of
contents and costs are available from Dr. Silvana di
Gregorio, Tel/Fax: 0181-806-1001
