Paula Bratton Young wrote on the 4th April about MRSA relating to heal
th care workers and eczema. There are two publications that are parti
cularly useful for information on infectious diseases in health care p
ersonnel, including staphylococcal infection. The first is 'Infection
Control in the Health Care Setting: Guidelines for the Prevention and
Transmission of Infectious Diseases', which is published by the Natio
nal Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in Australia. Staphyl
ococcal infection and staff with shedding skin conditions is discussed
in sections 2.21- Staphylococcal Infection, Special Issues No. 14 -
Overview of Staff Health Screening and Special Issues No. 15 - Staff
