I suspect that your research might need to take into account the laws
relating to the country from which the volunteers are recruited and
possibly those applying to the country in which the volunteer is
working.
In the UK, the Health & Safety at Work Act (Section 3 I think) might
relate to this area. Other countries will probably have similar
legislation.
