A few reference links that may help you a bit in your search for info on
temperament/tuning in Bach's time. The general concensus nowadays is
that Bach used something similar to "Kirnberger III" although he was well
known for the ease and speed with which he could tune his harpsichord and
may have made adjustments on the spot (not on the organ, of course,
which is a wee bit harder to tune in situ). There are MANY more references
& opinions out there.
