Assistant Under-Librarian and Assistant Library Officer in the University
Library
Two posts in the Cataloguing Department of the University Library: an Assistant
Under-Librarian (Romance Languages Specialist) and an Assistant Library Officer
(Germanic Languages Specialist). Applicants should have a good honours degree,
appropriate language skills, and a postgraduate qualification in library and
information studies, together with experience in an academic library. The
appointments will be for three years for an Assistant Under-Librarian, with the
possibility of reappointment to the retiring age, or for five years for an
Assistant Library Officer, with the possibility of reappointment for periods
not exceeding five years at a time.
The pensionable scales of stipends are:
Assistant Under-Librarian: £18,915 a year, rising by six annual increments to
£24,479.
Assistant Library Officer: £16,286 a year, rising by four annual increments to
£19,869.
