In June of this year the British Library launched a major consultation
exercise into the future of the UKMARC format. By now, you should have
had time to digest the documentation you were sent, to reflect on the
issues raised, and to consider the implications of harmonisation for
your institution. As part of the consultation, the British Library is

important matter with your colleagues and with appropriate British
Library and BIC representatives.
