A student here has presented me with a puzzle that I have had difficulty
dealing with because of a) my ignorance and b) our limited resources. I
have given her some general suggestions about where to start looking, but
have little specific to offer her. I would be most grateful if anyone who
knows more can give me suggestions about where to look.
The student is doing a project on Iranian criminal tribunals. She is
looking for records, reports, or anything substantive dealing with criminal
(or revolutionary) court proceedings after the post-Mossadegh coup and
after the Islamic revolution. I have turned up a number of books dealing
with Mossadegh's trials and a couple on trials after the Islamic
revolution. Almost all, however, are in Persian. The student is limited
to materials in English only.
I have suggested to the student that she look in the various indexes of
periodicals and newspapers, LC's GLIN, Index Islamicus, our old run of Iran
Press Digest, and a few other possible sources. Any other suggestions?
