I recently referred to several of our completed Health Information
Management dissertations in an article in LA Technology 2000 vol 5 (1) ('IT
training in health care: efficient, effective and economic?'), and have had
a query concerning their availability.
These dissertations are available for loan to external borrowers. Please
apply to the Thomas Parry library at the University with a BL form for
inter-library loan.
As for the other references in the article - the GIVTS report is available
via the Web (through the Departmental Web pages for DILS on the Aberystwyth
site http://www.aber.ac.uk/
You will also find information about the distance learning MSc Health
Information Management programme itself on the Deparmental web pages. The
programme now has Certificate, and Diploma as well as the Masters exit
routes, and the range of optional modules mean that it can be tailored
around your requirements. See http://www.aber.ac.uk/~olu/olu5.html
Modules include: Information Needs Analysis (Health); Exploiting Research
Information; Information Management in Community and Primary Care;
Client-led Information Services (includes user education); Financial
Management - and more.
If you have any queries please contact me.
