 Burke Museum
      Exhibitions include The Life and Times of Washington State
      which traces the natural history of the region, and Pacific
      Voices which investigates the cultural heritage of the
      area. Also features geology, anthropology, and zoology
      collections. Visitor information is provided.
 Smithsonian Institution Online Collections
      Gateway facilitating cross searching of the Smithsonian
      museums. Searches may be conducted by entering keywords,
      name of artist/maker, department, or date. Images
      accompanied by brief descriptions and data relating to each
      exhibit are returned.
 Ayer Company Publishers
      Publisher and vendor of reprints with a searchable
      collection of titles covering topics including accounting,
      crime, dance, economic research, films, history of
      medicine, journalism, management, opera, politics,
      religion, and travel.

      Organisation offering Internet training courses, a full
      text version of Karen Blakeman's Search Strategies for the

 ActivePerl
      Free downloadable version of Perl specifically designed to
      run on Windows 95, 98 or NT. Provides technical
      information, describes system requirements, and offers
      online support for users.
 Apache Today
      Collection of news, features, and tutorials relating to
      Apache Web Server and other Open Source technologies such
      as Linux. Users are able to set personal preferences on
      registration, resulting in email notification when stories
      of interest are posted.

      Povides a searchable interface to library related resources
      including collections such as LibraryLand Index, Index

      discussion group content.
 Librarians' Christian Fellowship
      Christian-oriented library organisation posting
      announcements of forthcoming events, membership details,
      and publication information.

      Released as a follow up to the ILO Declaration on
      Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, this series of
      reports examine trends relating to fundamental principles
      and rights in the workplace. Areas addressed include forced
      or compulsory labour, child labour, and discrimination.
 Law Machine
      A selection of plain language guides dealing with legal
      tasks and problems, with coverage of areas including
      business, family, consumer, criminal, and employment laws,
      and civil litigation. Also provides access to a directory
      of local solicitors in England and Wales.
 Law.com/uk
      Offers news and features for the UK legal profession
      covering fields including property, employment, family,
      media, corporate, and criminal law. Journal and opinion
      articles are provided for each area.
 Typing Injury FAQ
      Articles and FAQs offering information about repetitive
      strain injuries, discussing health care, ergonomics,
      keyboards, pointing devices, and software. Provides details
      of injury signs, risk factors within the office
      environment, avoidance techniques, and appropriately
      designed products such as supportive seats, alternative

 National Trust for Historic Preservation
      US organisation established to conserve historical
      buildings and landscapes. Offers topical news items, a
      preservation magazine, information about related law and

      guide to historic real estate, and a photographic index of
      the Trust's sites.
 Survey of Electronic Money Developments
      Offers information on electronic money products that were
      either in use or under development worldwide at the
      beginning of the new millennium. Both card and network
      based products are discussed, and policy responses on
      related issues are given for each country. Presented as a
      PDF file.
 Survey: Online Finance
      Provides an overview of the online financial services
      industry, considering benefits and drawbacks of service
      provision on the Internet. Topics covered include the

      Offers information relating to aviation safety with news

 Historic Wings
      Magazine offering articles about historic events in the
      field of aviation. Issues are published on a monthly basis
      and information is available in German, French, Portuguese,
      Spanish, and Italian. Free subscription is available.

 HotBraille
      A free transcribing service whereby blind, and sighted,
      users are able to send letters in Braille in over 19
      languages by entering a postal address and message. A
      member directory is provided to encourage individuals with
      an interest in Braille to meet and communicate.
 Greek Grammar on the Web
      Collection of annotated links to resources on ancient Greek
      grammar. Arranged by category, headings include the
      alphabet, numerals, accentuation and pronunciation,
      dictionaries and lexica, systematic grammar, and history of
      the language. Introductory courses, Greek fonts for
      computers, and collections of Greek texts are available.

 LookSmart: Science Multimedia
      Collection of multimedia resources designed to assist the
      teaching of science subjects such as astronomy, anatomy,
      evolution, chemistry, engineering, maths, and physics.
      Plug-ins are required to access much of the material.
 Isaac Newton
      An account of key events in the life and work of Sir Isaac
      Newton (1642-1727), focusing on his extensive contributions
      to the understanding of gravity and the field of
      mathematics.
 Solar and Upper Atmospheric Data Services
      Collection of data relating to solar activity, the
      ionosphere, and geomagnetic variations. Includes the
      numbers, positions, areas, and classifications of sunspots,
      radio flux measurements, solar irradiance measurements, and
      x-ray observations of the corona. Also covers
      flare-associated events and cosmic rays. Data sets are
      available via FTP.
 Professor Stephen Hawking
      Offers a biography of the theoretical physicist, a personal
      account describing the effect of Motor Neurone Disease upon

      selection of lectures delivered by Professor Hawking

      Information about the applications of entropy in a range of

 Tarantulas.com
      Collection of tarantula images with information about the
      origin, habitat, and appearance of each. Species shown
      include the Brazilian Black, Chilean Rose, Giant
      Vinegaroon, Indian Ornamental, King Baboon, and Pink Toe.
