iCas is OCLC/WLN's new tool for distributing collection analyses for library
directors and collection managers. WLN Conspectus Database Software supports
an ALA-approved and internationally recognised method for assessing Dewey,
LC and NLM classified collections. WLN's Conspectus Database software lets a
library or group of libraries create its own collection assessment database
and print a variety of assessment and collection management reports.
OCLC Europe, the Middle East & Africa will host a seminar 24th May 2000, at
the OCLC office in Birmingham.
10am - 4pm
The Seminar will provide an overview of OCLC/WLN's collection assessment
tools, including discussion of the conspectus concept and demonstrations of
tools to support the conspectus method of collection assessment, automated
collection analyses and comparisons.
Including.
- The WLN Conspectus structure and its uses in collection assessment and
automated collection analysis; the role of classification in automated
analysis; correspondence tables and customization.
