Booking is however required as numbers are limited. The closing date is
this Friday (24th March).
They should be of particular interest to subject librarians, those
supporting networked services, as well as academic users who want to
improve their understanding of the service.

Introduction
------------
INSPEC, from the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE), is the world's
leading database in the fields of physics, electronics and electrical
engineering, computers and control, and information technology.
BIDS provides access to this database via a SilverPlatter interface. To
assist those who support or use this service, BIDS, IEE and SilverPlatter
will be giving two half-day training sessions later this month. These
sessions are aimed at those who give support or training for this service,
or who wish to make more effective use of INSPEC.
Where and when will they be held?

There will be two half-day sessions, both held in the afternoon:
Wed 29th March - University of Glasgow
Fri 31st March - University College London
Who will be presenting them?

The presentations and demonstrations will be given jointly be staff from
BIDS, Silverplatter and IEE (the owners of the Inspec Database).

These sessions are free of charge.
Do I need to book?

Yes - space is limited at each venue, so booking is essential. If you
would like to attend, please complete the attached form for each person
who will be attending, and fax or e-mail it to the address given. If the
sessions are oversubscribed, then we reserve the right to limit the number
attending from any one institution.
The closing date for bookings for both sessions is Friday 24th March.
Those who book will receive an e-mail confirmation together with joining
instructions.
