THE PROGRAMME
Are jobs in academic libraries changing beyond
recognition? Are we evolving fast enough to
keep pace with educational and technological
development? Do staff spend more time answering
computing queries and troubleshooting printers
than dealing with requests for information?
Did you anticipate the amount of teaching your
job would involve? How do we respond
effectively to the needs of an increasing number
of distance learners? The University College
and Research Group of the Library Association's
study conference will be exploring aspects of
the changing environment and discussing ways in
which academic librarians can contribute to
shaping the future of information services in
the HE sector.
