Frameworks for Quality
28th November 2000
Dundee University.
The new Quality Assurance Agency framework is currently being
implemented throughout the Higher Education Sector. This workshop aims
to provide librarians with an overview of the new procedures. All of
the speakers will allow plenty of time for questions and discussion and
an exchange of experience session will form an important aspect of the
workshop.
David Bottomly of the QAA Scottish Office will introduce the new
frameworks that are currently being put in place including the
qualifications framework, subject benchmark, programme specification and
the Code of Practice. David will also discuss the new process of
Academic Review both at the subject level and the institutional level.
Fiona Smith of Dundee University will give further insights into the
Academic Review from the perspective of an academic member of staff who
is currently involved in the review process. Flora Smith will also
speak from personal experience of her involvement with the institutional
Continuation Audit at Glasgow Caledonian University and Carole McCallum,
the University Archivist will discuss what was involved in managing the
information and documentation for the Audit process.
