Does anyone have responsibility for a collection of dissertations?
I recently removed some from our collection to make way for some new
ones. The collection is for our students only, reference only and we
keep a written list of who has looked at what to avoid plagiarism. Most
of the ones I have removed are 7-10years old. My manager says that they
must be shredded and cannot just be put out with other rubbish in case
someone sees them accidently. Is this the correct procedure for
disposing of dissertations, or does it just depend on the rules of the
university concerned.
