The BLDSC regularly send us information about CRF items.
We have a daily replies intray automatically emailed to us listing all of
the new replies for all CRF, OOWL, NOP, DUE, DUE WAIT and Shipped Loan
items, etc.
In many cases the CRF items are followed up by receiving the printed C copy
slip through the post a couple of days later (we received one yesterday),
which usually details the sources the BL has checked the reference against.
In many cases, I can look up the journal contents pages online or check
on web of Sciecne/Medline & find the correct reference - often the user got
the volume/part no the wrong way round or the pages wrong, or their source
of reference was incorrect.
Sometimes, the Bl have been unable to trace a journal title (depite it
being listed in current serials received), but in those cases I reapply and
quote either the ISSN or the BL stock no.
