JISC Technology Watch
Helping to plan for the future of further and higher education.
7 February 2001, CVCP, Woburn House, London
****************************************************************************
A one-day seminar on institutional change and the implications of
technology use including developments in e-universities and
e-business. Much is written and discussed about these topics but
real change is patchy. The JISC is keen to aid understanding about
these issues and stimulate community wide discussions. This one
day seminar will provide a starting point for such discussions.
Presentations will be from some of the world's leading experts in
the area of technology change and planning for change. There will
be plenty of opportunities throughout the day for discussion. The
topics covered will include:
· The US education experience of managing institutional change in
the context of changing technologies and student needs
· The changing customer and market context with new technologies
· Tracking developments in mobile technologies and planning for
exploiting such technologies within organisations
· Managing change in risk-averse organisations
· The JISC's Technology and Standards Watch and Technologies
Centre and the national infrastructure for technology innovation
in education
· e-education - planning for the future
