Colleagues of Geophysics
As you know I agreed to become President of the British Geophysical
Association (BGA) taking over from Professor Alan Douglas of Blacknest. Two
things I wanted to let you know about:
1. The BGA are getting some promotional leaflets printed for geophysics.
These are entitled " A guide for sixth formers, parents, teachers and
careers advisors. These will be ready for Geoscience'00 and copies will be
sent to all UK Geophysics Departments.
2. The BGA now has a basic Web site which outlines what we are about, and a
promotional leaflet which will be ready for Geoscience'00.
The web address at the moment is:
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/geophysics/files/bga.html
In the next few weeks our web address will be:
www.geophysics.org.uk
It is the BGA's intention to be more proactive in spreading the word about
Geophysics. With this in mind the leaflets and web site are only the start
and we hope to provide better promotional information as time and resources
permit.
Best wishes
Paul
