The Environmental and Industrial Geophysics Group
(EIGG) of the Geological Society presents:
ADVANCES IN ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL GEOPHYSICS -
A CELEBRATION OF TEN YEARS OF EIGG
October 10th, 2000, Burlington House, Piccadilly
This special programme of keynote and research papers
will review the advances
made in the application of engineering and
environmental geophysics over the last decade and take
a look forward to the next ten years. The meeting
brings together some important European specialists and
will be of particular interest to civil and
geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists,
environmentalists and others who might consider using
geophysics in site investigation.
9.30 coffee and registration
10.00 Brief history of EIGG John Reynolds (RGSL)
10.10 Subsurface cavity and void detection with
microgravity
Peter Styles (University of Keele)
10.50 Civil engineering and NDT applications of ground
penetrating radar
John Bungey (University of Liverpool)
11.30 coffee
12.00 Geotechnical investigations using seismic field
measurements
