Dear all
As you may be aware the IESSG has developed software to
produce RINEX data files from handheld Garmin GPS receivers
(see www.nottingham.ac.uk/iessg/gringo). We are currently
conducting an intensive series of trials over baselines of varying
lengths. We would like to test the capabilities of the receivers, and
our software, over reasonably long baselines (preferably in excess
of 100km), and so seek your cooperation. Does anyone own, or
have access to, a Garmin 12 channel receiver (Garmin 12XL, II+, III
or III+) which they could operate for an agreed period on a well
surveyed reference point? We would like to use reference stations
with precise GPS surveyed coordinates in ETRS89. You would
also need to use a computer close to the receiver to run the
GRINGO program and record the RINEX data. It would also be
preferable to operate the Garmin receiver with a geodetic antenna.
We will of course provide a single copy of the GRINGO program for
the trials which you may continue to use after the trails are
completed. Any interest?
