Having lurked on this list for a few weeks, I thought I should finally say hello. I'm Tracey
Holsgrove, a PhD student at the Institute of Irish Studies, Liverpool University, England. The
topic of my thesis is the role of lay women in the changes in Irish Catholicism in the late 18th
and 19th centuries. I teach part-time on Irish history and women's history. I was loosely
raised a Catholic, but now do not practice any religion. My work examines moer the histroical
role of religion rather than theology.
I'm also Chair of the Women on Ireland Research Network, a support network for women academics
researching anything conncected with Ireland and for Irish women academics working in Britain.
It's a fascinating list, keep it up.....
Best, Tracey
