Event: The Engineer's Contribution to Urban Renaissance
Date: 8 February 2001
Venue: JJB Stadium, Wigan
Details:
Increasing public demand that future infrastructure expansion must be
carefully offset against environmental encroachment is driving development
towards renewal and replacement and away from "greenfield" sites. Many
"brownfield" sites suffer from a legacy of contamination. This seminar
considers the issues for dealing with urban renewal and looks at the
technical problems bequeathed to us and some of the innovative solutions
available to us in overcoming them.
The seminar will be chaired by Joe Dwyer, President of the Institution as
part of his visit to the North West.
An exhibition will run alongside this event.
