Caroline, not an obscure request at all.
I can recommend a few organisations, the best people to contact are
Survivors Poetry who are - "A unique national literature organisation
promoting poetry by survivors of mental
distress through workshops, readings,
performances to audiences all over the UK."
They have published a couple of anthologies which are highly regarded.
Contact details are Tel: 020 7916 5317 e-mail

Disability Arts in London Magazine also publish creative writing by
"survivors of the mental health system", they are re-organising at the
moment so I would wait a couple of months to contact them. Their No is-
020 7916 6351
Also try the manic depression fellowship who publish regular newsletters
(which include poetry) - sorry I don't have a contact.
And finally your local Mind.
Best wishes
Sue Williams
