International SRDS Workshop on Object-Oriented Reliable Distributed
Systems (WOODS2000)
CALL FOR PAPERS
The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 19th IEEE Symposium on
Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2000) on October 15, 2000 in
Nürnberg, Germany
Theme
The development of many new distributed systems and enterprise
applications is based on the object-oriented (or object-based) paradigm.
The object-oriented programming technique, with its modularity,
flexibility and reusability features, can be exploited for addressing
system reliability and complexity issues. This workshop will focus on
various object-oriented technologies, models and tools that facilitate
the design and implementation of predictably reliable and flexible
distributed applications. Major topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, object-oriented and reliability-explicit development
processes, adaptive and evolving architectures for large-scale
distributed applications, reliable distributed objects and components,
object-oriented approaches to fault tolerance and measures for
reliability prediction.
Submission guidelines
Papers and extended abstracts on basic research, case studies and
practical experience are welcome. All submissions must be written in
English. Regular papers may not exceed 10 pages and extended abstracts
may not exceed 4 pages. The contribution should be sent by e-mail as a
PostScript, PDF or WORD attachment. The submission deadline is August
21, 2000. The authors will be notified by September 18, 2000. The
accepted abstracts and papers will be included in an informal
proceedings produced locally and published on the WWW.
