Hi all
I think it would be better if people avoided as far as possible the use of
attachments when posting to cscw-sig.
1) In a recent attachment the message contained was less than 6k, but the
attachment was 57k when downloaded. This wastes readers' time & internet
resources.
2) Careful recipients will feel the need to check any attachment (especially a
".doc" attachment) with an anti-virus tool, thus wasting further time.
3) Some readers (e.g. me) will not have suitable software to read the
attachment properly, thus reducing the no. of readers.
4) It is easy for the sender to copy & paste the required text into an ordinary
e-mail message.
